McKinley is one of nine elementary schools in the Stevens Point Area Public School District. Our student population varies from year to year but averages about 460 students in grades K-6.

Elementary school hours for the 2018-2019 school year will be 8:45am - 3:35pm. Staff members are on duty on the playground beginning at 8:20am each school day. Students should NOT arrive at school prior to 8:20am unless they choose to eat breakfast at school. Breakfast begins at 8:15am and is available until the start of the school day.

    A Message from the Principal

    Dear Friends of McKinley,

On behalf of over 450 students and 60 staff members, it is my honor to welcome you to our learning community! First established in 1957, McKinley is an amazing elementary school with a rich history of student-centered education and a high degree of community involvement. We are celebrating our 60th anniversary in the Stevens Point Area Public School District this year, and while the building and faces may have changed over time, our love of children and focus on service has remained the same!

We welcome your involvement and embrace volunteers both at our building and within our PTO. I invite you to explore our website, and see for yourself all of the great things that are happening in and around our school.

    Kindest regards,

    Amanda M. Zanchetti-Mayo
    Principal

    Announcements

Each year, McKinley Center receives money from the federal government to help ensure that all McKinley students meet the challenge set out for them by the state academic standards. These funds allow McKinley to have reading teachers, family nights and certain teacher resources.

To help us make sure we are doing all we can to use these funds in the best way, please fill out this short survey.

We are also planning to have a Title 1 planning discussion during the PTO meeting on Monday, May 21st. Please join us if you are able. If you have further questions or comments, please email Renee Larson (rlarson@pointschools.net)
