Please join us in acknowledging the varied careers, and the passionate contributions of three of our incredible teachers who will be retiring at the end of this school year: David Poffinbarger, Dan Gagnon, and Rodney Clark. We wish them great joy and relaxation in their retirement!
Not only do students receive awards on Awards Night, but so do teachers! "This is a new award this year," said Principal Joel Burgener. "The idea was brought to me by a very thoughtful 8th grader, Luke Frisk. He thought students should have a say in acknowledging the contributions of teachers and show their appreciation. This led to the Charger Impact Teacher Award. Students of each grade level nominated and voted for a teacher that made an impact on them. Whether it was in the classroom, in advisory, or as a coach." This year's winners are pictured below, Dylan Koss, Andrew Fetting and Kevin Hopp.
Exciting happenings at BFJH! 9th grade Environmental Science class was able to work with Chris Radford from North Central Conservancy Trust and fly a drone. This will map the topography of the grass area in front of the school. Students are designing a 500 square foot rain garden. The garden is funded through a grant by the Recycling Connections. The rain garden will help alleviate some of the flooding that occurs on Polk Street.
