Prepare Each Student To Be Successful

Dear Families of Incoming Kindergarten Aged Students,

This letter is to inform you that due to the COVD-19 National Emergency, we will not be holding Kindergarten Visitation Days this spring. The safety and well-being of students, families and staff is our top priority at this time.
Kindergarten Visitation Days have been tentatively rescheduled during the week of August 10, 2020. Staff are very excited to meet you and your child, and are sad that we will not be able to meet this spring. We are so thankful to have you as partners in this educational journey.
Per School Board Policy 0113, school placement for your student is determined by your current home address and the attendance boundary of that address. Therefore, your child will be assigned to an elementary school based on your address and home school attendance area.
Each elementary school will host a visitation and screening day for students and their parents in mid-August.  You will receive a separate letter from your child’s assigned school giving you the date, time, and additional information pertaining to visitation days for incoming kindergartners around the end of July.  Kindergarten Visitation days give us an opportunity to meet you, your child, introduce teachers, share school procedures and information and much, much more. Please plan to attend this important day for your student.
If you are considering utilizing district transportation for your child during the 2020-2021 school year, please pre-register by calling 715-345-5477.
It is important to inform you that according to School Board Policy 8600, transportation guidelines and practices change for 5K students.  Your child may be assigned to a bus stop location with other children near your home, rather than individual pick-up and drop-offs.  For more information, please visit the Transportation webpage at
If you choose not to continue in the Stevens Point Area Public School District for the 2020-2021 school year, please notify the enrollment office at 715-345-5456.
We look forward to continuing to provide your child with enriching educational opportunities and services in the coming years. Please do not hesitate to contact the Bliss Educational Services Center at 715-345-5456 with any questions you may have. Please stay safe and healthy!
