    Cash in Lieu of Security Health Plan

    •Alternative Benefit is available to Teachers, Administrators and Support Services employees.
    •Employees waiving health insurance may elect to receive cash or fund a tax sheltered annuity.
    •This benefit is not available to those with a spouse in the District who carries family health insurance. 
    •Dental participation is not relevant with the Alternative Benefit plan.

    Care My Way® is flexible, convenient and quick care for common health conditions. No appointments, and no visits to your doctor’s office.

    How Does Care My Way® Work?

    Call 844-CAREWAY (844-227-3929) to connect by phone, or try a virtual visit by downloading the Mobile App from the Apple App Store or Google Play. Via phone or video, Care My Way® lets you talk to one of Marshfield Clinic's trusted, experienced nurse practitioners. Once you explain your symptoms, the nurse practitioner determines whether your symptoms match a Care My Way® condition.

    You can get a quick diagnosis and treatment for conditions that normally require an office visit, like flu, sinus infections or urinary tract infections (UTI).

    Care My Way® nurse practitioners can send needed prescriptions to the pharmacy of your choice.

    When can I call? How much will it cost?

    Care My Way® is available from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. It is a cash-based service, so you might incur a charge of $40, depending on your coverage. The charge is likely to be much less than what you would pay for a doctor’s office visit.

    Payment is collected at time of service. (Major credit cards accepted).
