Bring Your Group to the SPASH High Ropes Course
Adventure Education has a long history in the Stevens Point Area School District. The SPASH Ropes Course outdoor classroom site has been rebuilt and students and community groups have been using the course in full force. The initial course was constructed about 30 years ago, and over that period of time, roughly 21,000 students have experienced the unique challenges and experiences only available through such an offering. Annually, seniors in the Adventure Leadership course use the site in the fall and spring. In addition, sophomores, juniors and seniors in the Adventure Recreation and the Wisconsin River Academy do the same. Student groups such as Foods Biology, SPASH sports teams, and SPASH clubs all have access to the experiences.
Use of both the high and low ropes course activities provide students with opportunities to learn about themselves and gain confidence in ways that no other class can. The Adventure Education courses at SPASH provide one of the pillars of the physical education program, providing students with experiences that assist them in developing and promoting their personal lifelong activity.
Numerous university groups and community businesses have also accessed the SPASH course. To rent the course, please contact Educational Service, 715-345-5445.
