Dr. Cory Hirsbrunner became Superintendent of the Stevens Point Area Public School District in July 2022 and is a true advocate for children! She has been in education for 30 years, just completing her fifth year in the Stevens Point Area Public School District, serving as the Assistant Superintendent/Director of Elementary Education. Throughout her career, she has served as superintendent, director of instruction, principal, and classroom teacher. Mrs. Hirsbrunner embraces the close-knit and hard-working school community as well as the positive district and community partnerships that foster, support and encourages a focus on children.
Dr. Hirsbrunner received her Bachelor’s and Master's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, her certification in school administration from UW-Madison, and her Doctoral degree from Edgewood College in Educational Leadership. In addition, Dr. Hirsbrunner currently serves in an adjunct role advising doctoral students. She is also often asked to mentor aspiring administrators across the state.Dr. Hirsbrunner enjoys spending time with her family, the outdoors, golfing, watching her children compete in athletic events, and working on their family farm. Cory takes pride in her work ethic and ability to form relationships with those she works with and brings a wealth of K-12 experience to her position.“In my first few months in the role, I am eager to begin the important work of building relationships with all district staff, students, and families. I am looking forward to supporting and enhancing the amazing work that is already happening in the district to improve outcomes for all students.”
