Title II Digital Accessibility
Our Commitment to Digital Accessibility
The Stevens Point Area Public School District is committed to ensuring that every student, family, staff member, and community member can access the information and resources they need.
In April 2024, the U.S. Department of Justice issued updated rules under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requiring all public schools to make their digital services accessible. This includes websites, mobile apps, online documents, social media, videos, and other digital tools.
What This Means for Our District
- By April 24, 2026, all of our digital content must meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the federal accessibility standard.
- Accessibility applies to both new and updated content.
- Archived or inactive materials may be exempt, but all active and future content must be fully accessible.
What We’re Doing
- Conducting audits of websites, documents, and online platforms.
- Providing training and tools for staff who create and publish content.
- Working with vendors to ensure new tools meet accessibility standards.
- Publishing updates on our progress.
