Meal Account Policies
Meal Payment Policy
A computerized accounting system is used at all district schools. Upon enrollment, each student is assigned a unique Food Service PIN/barcode. They will utilize this same PIN throughout their enrollment in the district.
Payments to a student's food service account can be made online through Skyward Family Access by using the log-in information provided by your child's school office. (Refer to the FAQ page for instructions on how to make a payment.)
Food service accounts are student-based, meaning siblings do not share funds. You may add any sum of money to your student's account; those funds will remain in the account until fully utilized. Please maintain a positive balance in your child's food service account.
When your child goes through the service line for breakfast, lunch, or á la carte items, the appropriate cost is deducted from their food service account.
Parents/Guardians will be notified when their child's food service account balance is $5 or less. Please verify with Student Services (715-345-5454) that your contact information is current in order to ensure you receive all school/district notifications.
Negative Balance Policy
Any unpaid food service debt that is sixty or more days past due will be taken to the Finance Committee for possible action. Charges associated with a small claims court filing or fees charged by a collection agency shall be added to the unpaid debt due the district. The district will delay such action when the parent(s)/guardian(s) agrees to eliminate the debt by making timely payments in accordance with an alternative payment plan authorized by the Food Service Department.
District Staff Meal Policies
District staff who have a food service meal account must maintain a positive account balance at all times. The Food Service Department reserves the right to refuse a meal to any district staff member who does not either (1) have sufficient funds in their food service account or (2) pay cash at the point of purchase. If you are using a food service account, please enter your PIN at the point of purchase or ask the cashier to scan your badge.
District staff who do not have a food service account but would like to eat a school meal must pay for the meal at the point of purchase. Please have exact change. To request a food service account, please fill out a Request for Food Service Account form. Food service accounts are not available to student teachers.
Portion sizes for adults may not exceed the equivalent portion size for a high school student. For questions regarding portion sizes, please see your school's Food Service supervisor or head server.
Staff wishing to eat lunch at an elementary school must sign up in their school's main office prior to 9:00 a.m. If ordering a salad, please note that a pre-packaged salad is considered a full meal and therefore does not include any additional foods such as milk, fruit, etc. Additional food items are considered à la carte and are charged accordingly.
