Project SEARCH
Project SEARCH is an international employment training program for young adults with disabilities.
Program components:
- 8-12 applicants are accepted for their final year of high school
- School year length program which includes a 3 week orientation, three 10 week host site internships, 2 transition weeks, commencement and follow up support at their new jobs
- Curriculum is focused on employability skill development
- 60-90 minutes per day of classroom training with the instructor
- 4.5-5 hours per day at their internship site
Goal: competitive integrated employment-16+ hrs/week
Partners include: host site, educational partners, vocational and long-term service providers, vocational rehabilitation agency, area businesses and families.

Assessment Day is held at UWSP. It is an opportunity for applicants to meet Project SEARCH site partners and perform a variety of tasks they may come across if accepted into the program. We ask interns to treat this day as an interview.
Acceptance letters will be sent out by April 10, 2026.
2026-2027 interns will be asked to commit by May 1, 2026
