Mr. Chris Doubek

Chris Doubek grew up near Sussex, Wisconsin.  As a boy, Chris played soccer and enjoyed travelling with his family. His parents are retired and split their time between Madison and Tucson.  Chris has two sisters; his older sister is a chemist at the University of North Carolina, and his younger sister lives in France with her son Louis and daughter Celie.

Chris attended UW-SP where he majored in social studies and education.  Eventually, he went back to UW-SP to receive his special education certification.  Chris obtained a job in the Stevens Point School District, first as an educational assistant at SPASH. Then, he taught students with emotional and behavioral disabilities at PJ Jacobs for seven years.  Chris received his Masters of Education from Silver Lake College in 2002.  Finally, Chris returned to SPASH, this time as a teacher for students with learning disabilities where he has remained.

Chris is involved in the SPASH Special Sports Program where he has coached soccer, basketball, and bowling. He is on the Games Management Team for Special Olympics Bocce and assists at the State Winter Games with snowshoeing.  He volunteers his time with Youth Ministry and teaching Confirmation at his parish.  He is the District 2 Supervisor on the Portage County Board.

Chris enjoys biking, reading, juggling, watching movies, working in the yard, kayaking, and cooking in his free time.  He loves watching Green Bay Packer games and hockey.
