• McDill offers several opportunities for our students to get involved in extra-curricular activities. Below are the activities and clubs students can enjoy:

    • Student Council - Open to students in Grades 4-6.  Applications are taken each year in the fall by students wishing to take on a leadership role within the school.  Students are given an opportunity to present themselves to their class and to the advisors for election as members. Student Council members participate in service projects, run fundraisers and school store, attend a leadership conference every year, and serve in many other valuable ways throughout the school year.  Current Advisors:  To Be Deterined (@pointschools.net) and (@pointschools.net).

    • Book Club - Open to students in Grades 4-6. Book Club meets twice a month before school in the library.  Students read the selected book on their own and then come together to discuss. Watch for the monthly signup to come home via email.
      Current Adviser: Liz Peterson (epeterso@pointschools.net)

    • Battle of the Books - Open to students in Grades 4-6. The 4-5th grade students are given a list of 20 titles to read over the a course of a few months.  The titles include picture books and chapter books. Students in 6th grade are given a list of 20 chapter books to read. Students compete in a trivia style event in teams of 2-4 players.  School level competition occurs in January and the winning teams compete at the state level in February. Students will receive information in library classes.
