1. Letter To Families - Regarding signing up for Free/Reduced Priced Meals (required to receive P-EBT benefits)
2. Online P-EBT Application For Families Who Did Not Receive A Letter About Their Benefits
A P-EBT Application will soon be available online for families who do NOT receive a letter(s) about P-EBT benefits for the 2021-2022 school year but who believe their child(ren) was (were) eligible for benefits. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) will be sending letters to tell families how much they are getting in benefits for each month. If a family is not receiving School PEBT benefits, they will not receive a letter.
However, families may also not receive a letter because DHS does not have their mailing address on file. Families who believe this might be the case should fill out a PEBT Application. The application allows families to see whether their child's record is found in the P-EBT system and provides the P-EBT Support Team with potentially missing information needed to send benefits, if the child is found eligible.
Note: If a family received a letter from DHS about P-EBT, even one that said the family was not receiving benefits for certain months of the school year, they should not fill out the application.
A link to the application can be found on the DHS website.
If a family has questions about the application, the website also offers a link to a video created in the 2020-2021 school year. This video, offered in English and in Spanish, walks families through the application. The P-EBT Application from last year will look almost identical to the P-EBT Application for the 2021-2022 year. Finally, families can also reach out to the PEBTsupport@wisconsin.gov or P-EBT support line at 1-833-431-2224 (8am-4pm, Monday-Friday) with any questions.
