Nestled just off the beaten path on the north side of Stevens Point is a true gem of the Stevens Point School District, James Madison Elementary School. Together the staff at Madison Elementary embraces the belief that all students are our students. We work together to ensure the academic, social, and emotional success of each one of our students. High expectations for all students and providing the support needed for each student to reach his/her potential is our goal.

The atmosphere at Madison is always upbeat and positive. We recognize the importance of having fun while achieving our goals. Students want to be at Madison and know they are valued. Every member of Madison’s team recognizes that forming relationships is how a great educational experience begins. Behavioral expectations are built around our Be Statements: Be Safe, Be Kind, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible. We have a model Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) system that teaches and encourages each student to always be and do his/her best.

Madison epitomizes the embracement of diversity. Everyone is included and diversity is part of our everyday experience, just like society in general. We are diverse in our racial population, in our socioeconomics, and in our experiences. Students and staff at Madison Elementary learn we have a lot in common. We appreciate our different experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives. We also find that our differences make us stronger as we work together to achieve our individual and group goals. Madison Elementary is a great place for students to learn and grow!
