Enrollment Review
Our District is considered a declining enrollment district, which means overall student enrollment has decreased over time. Enrollment trends affect nearly every part of District planning, including staffing, class sizes, course sections, building-level planning, transportation, programming and long-term financial sustainability.
Our District leaders review enrollment by grade level, building and program area to better understand where student needs are changing. This work helps leaders make proactive decisions rather than waiting until budget challenges require more reactive reductions.
Our District is also in the process of more strategically addressing open enrollment both into and out of our schools. This includes reviewing available data, identifying patterns and better understanding when, where and why families make enrollment decisions.
Enrollment review is also connected to our long-range planning work, including conversations about student opportunities, school facilities, program access and how resources are aligned across our schools.
