Q: What is TeacherLists? TeacherLists is a digital platform that converts our traditional paper and PDF school supply lists into an interactive, mobile-friendly format. This allows you to view your child's exact school supply list from any device and easily find the items you need.
Q: Why did the district switch to this new tool? We moved away from static PDFs to ensure our web content is fully accessible to all families in our community. These digital lists scale perfectly on mobile phones, work seamlessly with screen readers, and can be instantly translated into multiple languages. They also update in real time if a classroom requirement changes.
How to Use the Tool
Q: Where can I find my child’s supply list? Simply visit your school's website. The supply lists are embedded within the "Student & Families" tabs.
Q: Do I have to buy my school supplies online? Not at all! The digital list is simply a tool for your convenience. You can use it as a checklist on your phone while shopping in any physical store, print it out at home, or choose to use the one-click online shopping feature.
Q: How does the online shopping feature work? If you prefer to shop online, the platform allows you to select a major online retailer from a drop-down menu. With one click, your child's entire supply list will pre-fill into a digital shopping cart on that retailer's website. You can then modify the cart, change brands, or check out as you normally would.
Troubleshooting & Special Circumstances
Q: Can I translate the supply list into another language? Yes. There is a built-in translation button directly on the supply list module on our website. Clicking it allows you to view the entire list in your preferred language instantly.
Q: What if I have children in multiple schools or different grades? Each school's website features the specific lists for that building. You can easily view different grade levels within the module, or jump to your other child's school website to see their specific requirements.
Q: What should I do if an item on the list is out of stock online? Because the online shopping feature connects directly to external retail websites, inventory is handled by those specific stores. If an item is out of stock at one retailer, you can easily switch to a different online provider within the tool, find the item at a local storefront, or look for a similar alternative.
