A man in a gray sweatshirt points at a computer screen where a young boy in a blue shirt is looking, with rolls of colored vinyl in the background.

From building virtual worlds to exploring the world of ethical hacking, students in the Bits and Bytes Summer School class are getting a comprehensive introduction to the field of computer science.

This course gives students hands-on experience with the same tools used by industry professionals. Over the session, students are:

  • Designing Websites: Using Notepad++ and Visual Studio Code to build custom websites from scratch using HTML and CSS.
  • Developing Games & 3D Modeling: Designing games in Unity and Unreal Engine, and bringing 3D models and animated scenes to life using Blender and 3ds Max.
  • Learning About Cybersecurity: Diving into the fundamentals of cryptography, practicing Linux commands, and engaging in discussions about ethical hacking.

By blending creativity with technical problem-solving, the class offers a little bit of everything for the next generation of tech innovators!
