Student Leadership Summit: 80+ Students Step Up to Lead Change

Last week, over 80 students from grades 7–12 came together for the Student Leadership Summit, hosted by the Stevens Point Area Public School District’s Equity, Diversity & Inclusion team. The goal? To help students find their voice, build confidence, and learn what it really means to be a leader.

A Day Built Around Student Voice

The summit kicked off with a keynote from Laurice Snyder, who encouraged students to ask more questions, stay curious, and lead with empathy.

After the keynote, students split into breakout sessions covering topics like mentorship, authenticity, and confidence. Each one gave students practical tools and space to reflect on how they can lead in their own way.

Learning, Leading, and Taking Action

Throughout the day, students had honest conversations, shared ideas, and set personal goals. Now the summit may be over, but the work continues. Students are back in their schools and ready to turn their thoughts into action!
