Stevens Point Area Public School District Announces #PointProud Schools 2040 Task Force, Community members invited to apply for participation

STEVENS POINT, Wis. — The Stevens Point Area Public School District has announced the creation of the #PointProud Schools 2040 Task Force, a community-based advisory group that will help study long-term facility and grade-level alignment needs and provide recommendations to the Stevens Point Area Public School District School Board.

The task force is part of the district’s ongoing commitment to responsible planning, transparency, and community engagement. Its work will focus on understanding current and projected enrollment trends, reviewing district facilities and capacity, and exploring possible options to ensure sustainable, high-quality educational opportunities for students well into the future.

“This task force is about listening, learning, and planning together,” said school board president, Meg Erler. “No decisions have been made. This is a chance for community members to be part of a thoughtful, data-informed process that looks ahead to the needs of our schools and our community.”

Task Force Purpose

The #PointProud Schools 2040 Task Force will:

  • Review demographic and enrollment trends

  • Examine facility use, capacity, and long-term needs

  • Explore grade configuration and alignment considerations

  • Provide recommendations to the school board for future planning

The task force is advisory in nature and will not make final decisions. Any future actions would be considered by the school board through established public processes.
