Stevens Point Area Senior High Names Landon Dehnel as Boys Hockey Head Coach
STEVENS POINT, WIS. – Stevens Point Area Senior High (SPASH) is pleased to announce the hiring of Landon Dehnel as the Varsity Boys Hockey Head Coach.
Dehnel is no stranger to the SPASH hockey program or the Wisconsin Valley Conference, having been a player in the conference and most recently a coach on the Panthers Staff. His familiarity with the program, commitment to student-athletes, and passion for the game make him an excellent choice to lead the next chapter of SPASH Boys Hockey.
Athletic Director David Hauser shared his excitement about the appointment.
"Landon has been a part of the SPASH hockey program and Wisconsin Valley Conference hockey as a player, and we are excited to have Landon move into the head coaching position. He understands the tradition and expectations of Panther hockey and brings enthusiasm, knowledge of the game, and a genuine commitment to developing our student-athletes both on and off the ice. We look forward to supporting Landon as he leads our program into the future."
Coach Dehnel is currently a teacher at PJ Jacobs junior high school in the Stevens Point Area School District and also coaches 7/8th grade baseball at PJ.
Landon quote “I am honored to be named the next coach for SPASH Hockey. I have been extremely fortunate to be with the program the last four seasons. The support that the SPASH hockey program receives from the school, district, and community is second to none. It is truly a special place to be and to play hockey. I look forward to continuing the success and tradition that SPASH Hockey has accumulated over the decades. Go Panthers!”
The Stevens Point Area Public School District and SPASH Athletic Department welcome Coach Dehnel to his new leadership role and look forward to the continued success and growth of the Panthers hockey program under his direction.
