SPAPSD Honors Lindsey Kedrowski, Charles F. Fernandez Center Head Secretary, with Mandana Bliss Award

Stevens Point, Wis. – The Stevens Point Area Public School District proudly recognizes Lindsey Kedrowski, Head Secretary at the Charles F. Fernandez Center (C.F.C.), as the recipient of the December Mandana Bliss Award.

The Mandana Bliss Award symbolizes the district’s deep appreciation for the commitment and outstanding efforts of staff who exemplify Educational Excellence. The award honors Mandana Hale Bliss, Stevens Point’s first school teacher and a trailblazer whose service and dedication continue to inspire the district today.

Lindsey was recognized for her exceptional dedication to fostering a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive environment for students, staff, and families. Known as a trusted presence within the C.F.C. community, Lindsey consistently goes above and beyond the expectations of her role, ensuring that every individual who walks through the doors feels seen, supported, and valued.

“Lindsey is that trusted person,” said C.F.C. Principal Dani Fowler-Koenig. “She will do whatever it takes to make sure that not only students’ needs are met, but staff needs and family needs as well, over and above.”

Her personal connection with students was a recurring theme throughout the nomination process. Students frequently shared that Lindsey is often the first smile they see in the morning, setting a positive tone for their day and reinforcing a sense of belonging.

“I was just struck, over and over again, by this theme of students saying she is the first smile I see in the morning,” Dani shared. “One student wrote, ‘I just feel seen by her.’”

Two students, Amelia and Hailey, spoke during the school board meeting to share the impact Lindsey has on their daily experience at C.F.C.

“Lindsey makes C.F.C. a better place because she welcomes students each morning by their names as they are walking in, making them feel welcome,” they said. “Lindsey impacts every student’s life in many ways, and from our experience, it is always a positive impact.”

“Lindsey truly embodies the culture of belonging and student-centered focus that defines our district,” said Superintendent Dr. Cory Hirsbrunner. “Her compassion, consistency, and commitment make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students and families every single day.”

The Mandana Bliss Award is presented monthly to staff members who demonstrate extraordinary service and dedication, embodying the values of the Stevens Point Area Public School District.
