Stevens Point Area Senior High Names New Head Girls Soccer Coach
STEVENS POINT, WIS. - SPASH is excited to announce the appointment of Bill Loss as the new Varsity Head Girls Soccer Coach. Coach Loss brings an extensive background in soccer, equipped with over 30 years of coaching experience at various levels.
Coach Loss joined the SPASH coaching staff this past fall as the Head Boys Soccer Coach, a position he will continue to lead.
Starting his coaching career in the DC Everest School District, Loss served as the boys' head coach from 1993 to 1997. He initiated the girls' program in 1993 and led it for seven successful years. Following this, he moved on to become the executive director of the Madison Area Youth Soccer Association, while also assisting the girls' high school team at McFarland High School. Currently, he coaches for the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association as head coach for the 13U Girls Olympic Development Program (ODP).
“SPASH has a long and storied history of success,” Loss stated. “Our goal is to build upon past achievements, enhance the development of each player, and elevate the program to new heights where excellence is the standard.”
Loss has also officiated soccer at the NCAA Division 1 and 3 levels, including Conference USA, The Horizon League, and the WIAC. He was also a WIAA High School soccer official and officiated the Wisconsin State Tournament five times.
Coach Loss currently holds the following coaching certifications and licenses in soccer:
- National D License - U.S. Soccer
- Advanced National Diploma - United Soccer Coaches Association
- National Diploma - United Soccer Coaches Association
- Regional Diploma - United Soccer Coaches Association
Athletic Director David Hauser expressed optimism regarding the new leadership of the girls' soccer program, noting, "We are fortunate to have Coach Loss on staff, and we look forward to his leadership of this program. In addition to Coach Loss's extensive experience, his commitment to the sport and dedication to advancing the achievements of the Stevens Point Area Senior High Girls Soccer program is immensely valuable."
